Houston Stick Fighting Association's 3rd Quarterly Gathering of 2012 on Sept 22, 2012

The Houston Stick Fighting Association has been going on since November 2006. The group meets at places like the public parks, the beach, a member's school location, various gyms, and so-on...

This coming Saturday, at 9AM on Sept 22nd is one such occasion.

The rules are flexible and discussions and agreements between players are highly emphasized and encouraged for one 2-minute round. Each player can choose whom they want to spar with and the rules do vary though the standard basic rules for protection are manadtory head and face protection(i.e.: fencing mask, WEKAF helmet) and hand protection (hockey or lacrosse gloves).... the WEKAF vest is optional, as are the extras like elbow, forearm and knee padding. There also have been mixed weapons matches such as "Siniwali vs Western Longsowrd, solo bast vs doble baston-etc. Some fighters will choose to go to the ground also. Once again, it is encouraged to discuss the arrangements of the match before the match.
