The Last 72 Hours- 3 days of non-stop Arnis

The last 72 hours have been a very interesting chain of events making more tired then I have been in a long time, but it has been very positive! Things started a number of years ago because of introduction by Darren Tibon to gentleman named Val Mijailovic. Val is the publisher of Masters Magazine and owner of Empire Media. Val has been trying to get me out to his studio for a number of years and finally things all came together. Val shot the Serrada Legacy event in Stockton Ca 2013. He had shot footage of me there and put it in Darren's Event video. He had said you need to get your methods filmed!
But as our lives run in cycles everything else come together within the same span!

It started on Thursday with two of my morning students wanting two hours of Arnis with double stick and knife training. Then getting everything together for Friday. Friday My son Matt and my cousin Victor Kyle Labarinto and I went up to Sunland a 45 minute drive, CA to shoot video. I had the two teenage boys read through my curriculum and special training for ideas for filming. When I got there and sat down and talked with Val, he like some of the ideas and had his own, we put together a plan and started shooting with the boys helping. No lunch straight through we worked one video after another. The boys were real troopers. No complaints! Then after 3 1/2 hours of Arnis work it was time to go back. Now at 4pm it was 1 hour ride back. The boys were really interested in in practicing knife and tomahawk throwing, so I said OK so when we got home I set up targets we started throwing blades. I had one of those days where I almost could not miss! So Kyle texted his sister and Dad so they come over and we still going finally at 8pm I call it a night. 12 hours latter there we are at 8 am Arnis de Mano class going full throttle again. By yesterday evening I was worn out. Thank god yesterday was the day of rest! I needed it!
