What an amazing weekend with friends new and old. I received such wonderful hospitality from everyone that I crossed paths with over the weekend. I went to San Francisco to participate in a seminar at Eskabo Daan with legendary Leo Fong, GM Michael Giron, and GM Robert Castro. I ended up going to the Island Fiesta for Westmoor High School's Filipino Barkada, and helped out at the 1st Annual Unified Filipino Martial Arts Council tournament at Lowell High School.
GM Castro, his family, and his students welcomed me into their homes and treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. GM Giron and Guro Lawrence Motta continued to show what true martial artists act like - extending themselves and strengthening our relatively new friendships. I cannot say enough kind things about any of these individuals.
I also had the great opportunity to finally meet so many of the members of MyFMA.net. I won't try to name everyone as there were so many, but I appreciate all of you and your contributions to the arts. I would like to mention that I got to reconnect with GM Max Pallen again; it has been too long since we last saw each other. I would also like to mention Frank and Cathy Landers and of course Terry Joven. Terry has been an enormous help here on the network. I don't see how he has time to work as often as he checks in. I was very fortunate to interact with Cathy's father GGM Isidro P. Javier shortly before his passing, and I value their friendship.
To all of you that came to the seminar and supported me, thank you! To everyone that I got to see again or meet for the first time in person, I truly appreciate you all!
