Last night I was honored to be invited to the 42nd Sama Sama Celebration hosted by Grandmaster Max Pallen & family in San Leandro California. I accompanied Grandmaster Frank Landers and Professor Cathy Landers who were honored guests.  There were some great demonstrations and lots of great food.  Grandmaster Pallen was celebrating his birthday so there was birthday cake as well.  It was a good time for everyone.  I was glad to see some familiar faces...Master Michael Giron, Guru Terry Joven, Master Carlito Bonjoc Jr., Grandmaster Emile Bautista, and Grandmaster Pete Morales, who, as I was surprised to learn, lived on the Island of Guam the same time I lived there in 1962. It was a fun evening and I thank Grandmaster Max Pallen for inviting me to be there...

It was a night of festive celebration, as Grandmaster Frank Landers and I were very blessed to be honored guest of Grandmaster Max Pallen’s 42nd Sama Sama.
We were joined by many friends, old and new, and we especially enjoyed the hugh dinner spread of Filipino food, along with 2 pigs and a birthday cake for GM Pallen.
The entertainment of demos which was performed by the Pallen family and students some as far away as Delaware put on a great show for everyone, what a display of talent and skill, and was especially proud of GM Dexter Labonog and Guro Terry Joven of our Bahala Na Multi-Style family for a great demo.
The grand finale ended with a demo performed by Grandmaster Pallen, what a treat as always.
It was a most enjoyable night, with many treasured memories.

Thank You to the Pallen Family,

GM Frank Landers & Prof. Cathy Landers
