In Counterpoint Tactical Systems, we have a lot of drills like most FMAs. I came across a video by the Bayani Warrior Group discussing how effective drills are and do they work? Personally, I think the answer is yes and no. Check out the explanation here on my blog: learn the drill, drill the drill, and forget the drill.
I'm pleased to announced that STL Counterpoint will be hosting a Counterpoint Tactical System seminar with Master Zach Whitson on May 25th. Check out the link below for more information.

Counterpoint Tactical Systems recently had its Instructor's Camp in Butler, TN. In my personal blog, I recount what we learned on day 02. The topics included Panatukan entries with elbows, empty hand versus stick and walking stick striking sets.
Day two started off like day one, with more ranging footwork. Master Whitson led us in pole standing meditation, but it wasn’t as long as we stood during the first day. On this morning, he had us switch to a different…

Recently, the Counterpoint Tactical Systems family got together in Butler, Tennessee for 2.5 days of training that included empty hands, stick and staff material. Over at my blog, I'm in the process of writing up summaries about each day. Please, note that this is my personal experience of the camp. Here is the beginning of Day 1's entry.
I woke up early on September 13th for the trip to Butler, TN. After eleven hours of travel, including meeting up with Michael Miller…
