The Filipino martial arts community lost one of its most colorful and beloved leaders last night in the person of Grandmaster Warlito “Lito” Concepcion, affectionately nicknamed “Datu Puti” (because of his gray hair) by many of his friends.

I often refer to fencing techniques during instruction. I spent a good part of my youth in a fencing school, practicing advances, retreats, lunges and other techniques. My teacher was the father of one of my high school friends.
