To many, martial arts may be seen as non conducive to the positive development of a child or an adult. By some, its practice can be viewed as barbaric and counterproductive to a civilized society. As you can probably guess, I disagree.

Hi, this is David Beck. I'm a full time performance engineer for Sabre Holdings and a part-time martial artist. I grew up in Ohio and Iowa. The other day I had to go to a rough neighborhood for an appointment at the state one stop/EDD office. That being said I knew I was going into a area where you would say there were many wolves waiting to pray on the weak. there are homeless on the street, poor people digging through the trash, folks panhandling, and crimnal types just kind of lurking around. Last night I went to charity event, where I had donated for the group hosting the event a hand-made wooden Kampilan sword and two wooden dagas. They are made out of Selang Batu wood. ( I posted a picture of the sword in my picture album)
