Having a knife pulled on me in play?

This has happen several times in my life, and again today. Someone will be part of  group conversation and for whatever reason decide to pull their knife out quickly and go into some kind of fighting stance. This time the individual ( a ex-con) was attending a community class that my work was hosting. I had been talking with another person about a women's self defense class when 1st this guys said I got a knife and quickly flicked it open and stepped back into boxing type stance. Discretion is the better part of responsibility

In a world where social media pages such as this one can distribute information at the speed of light, I grow increasingly concerned about what sorts of things I see posted.I remember distinctly speaking with Grand Master Leo one day and having him tell me "Be careful what you say or else someone will come along and shove that stick down your throat".  I also remember his intake interview and the feeling of being sized up, measured and judged about my character.  When you entered the basement… Continue

I know because of the magazine I had the privilege to meet many FMA practitioners  all over the USA and talk to them all over the world. I would like to see each group have column they put out and events from each… Continue

Early Morning Work Out

Got up early and worked out while still cool @ dawn 0530 could not sleep any more so just worked out in the early morning quite. Just watching the dawn and building my Chi. It is great to work out then before the hustle and bustle of the day gets started. The Sayaw flows well with the breathing techniques. Practiced it three different ways with stick with out and small hunting type blade trainer.

Knife disarm in action

Like everyone else my system and myself practice knife dis-arms, but rarely do ever have the experience of doing one for real. Yesterday at Old Fort Mac days I actually had someone pull a bayonet on me and i applied a knife disarm and it worked!!!. This is what happen, I was on guard duty for my unit (The Philippine Scouts Historical Society) my job was to challenge any WW-2 re-enactor or pirate for their pass , if not then I would escort them to my commander. This is done to cause some small… Continue
