I remember the time, when Doc. (GM Guillermo Lengson) used to train us before a fight, what we called "a worst combat" We are given individual instruction, that we should do before we practice together. On my part,I have to jog 30 minutes ( to build up my endurance ),the gym opens around 7:00 Pm. We do warm ups. Doc reminds us that the exercises should be done properly. it starts from the head going down slowly, shoulder, arms, etc.and it will end…

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my…

The weather was perfect, the people were great, the food was awesome and the games were challenging and fun. It was another very successful Wilton War Games at the Becker Ranch on Saturday. OGE brought 5 students, myself and GM Mike to the party. Our host were increadibly warm and we all felt part of the family. Guro Fernando did one hell of a job herding the whole mess of students from one exercise to the next. Everyone got the chance to put their training into a practical situation. …

It was Gm Leo Fong a noted Martial Artist who shared this concept with me. He has used this in boxing, Chi-Fong and Modern Eskrima. This concept in one that sounds so simple of just being relaxed until you just about to hit. This concept sounds funny at first but when you realize that this will allow you to strike harder & faster and last longer when fighting sounds almost too good to be true. GM Leo showed me this using little weights just 3 pounds. This when coupled with Chi-build ing…

I've got my coffee and a couple minutes to share the highlights from the 4th Annual Goodwill Tournament held last Saturday in Vallejo. We had a great day with the sun shining and a cool breeze off the water. Over all, we had great participation with over a dozen 13-17 year olds, a small group of 8-12 year olds and a total of 7 teams (21 fighters) for the adult team competition. The double elimination format gave everyone at least two fights so there was a lot of activity. In the end, it…

My boxing was taught to me by Erwin Mosqueda, Felix Roiles and Leo Fong so boxing looks a little different then standard Western Boxing and is very effective. I would say that my boxing is 3/4 filipino 1/4 southern american style. I box guys at the UFC gym of different weights and ages. My boxing method has proven very effective. I feel this because of a number things that comes from stick work. 1st is speed, everybody in boxing seems to move slowly to me when compared to stick work. That…
