Push Your Teacher!! Make sure they are worth your time

Posted on December 12, 2013 at 2:57pm 3 Comments

When looking for a martial arts school to join or even re-assessing if the current school you belong to suites your needs and wants it's important to evaluate two (2) primary aspects. The teacher and his or her relationship with his or her students. As a student there are three (3) non-replaceable things you give when you commit yourself to a style, system, school or instructor.  Those three non-replaceable things are your attention, time and trust. Of course you should already have sorted…

When Training Alone

Time spent with just yourself and your sword, knife or other martial skill covers majority of your training time. This is the time of perfection in your technique and mastery over your body, strategy and tactics. When training alone, this is the time to really slow things down, break down and dissolve and refine your technique and find your physical and intellectual martial…

Paul Ingram,

The video looks great! I am interested in your program in the Chicagoland area and I have a few questions.

I see that Pekiti-Tirsia has ranks ( ) and was wondering #1)what your rank was, #2)where you trained to obtain your rank, #3) under who you trained, and their rank, and #3) how many years you have been training in PKT... if you do not mind me asking.

I know that it has been a while since I listed your school on the website, and of course I would not expect you to remember, but I also live in Chicago and was wondering about the lessons that you give.

Hey Paul. I got your invite on Facebook. I didn't even know this website existed lol. Glad to see there is a forum specifically for FMA practitioners. This is going to be cool.

Guro Nate Defensor of Defensor Method at several locations

Guro Mike Eugenio at Headhunter Sports

Keith Jennings instructor of Michael Janich's Martial Blade Concepts
