Martial Arts Experience:
As a good friend of mine told me, I do too much! I definitely absorb all that I can - even things others might find "not useful." I think of it as collecting tools. You don't always need an oil wrench or an axle puller, but they sure make the job easier and more efficient. They can sit in the tool box until you need them.
I am the founder of Ogichidaakana. This is a comprehensive collection of my training and is also the presentation of the fighting arts indigenous to the Native American - specifically the Anishinaabe. I am one quarter Anishinaabe also known as Ojibwe or Chippewa. I am also one quarter Norwegian and definitely feel the connection to Viking power. :)
As an Anishinaabe, I am part of the Bear Clan from the White Earth Tribe now located on the White Earth Reservation. Most of my family on my father's side lives there.
By far, two of the most important teachers in my life are Ernesto A. Presas and Willem de Thouars. Each has their unique strengths as martial artists, fighters, and teachers. I value all that they have shared with me and strive to represent them to the best of my ability.
I currently hold a 8th Degree Black Belt in Kombatan under Ernesto and serve as the Chief Instructor of the Midwest for the International Philppine Martial Arts Federation. I am a recognized Guru in Kuntao Silat de Thouars and hold the title of Chuan Su Shih Shifu in Hakka Southern Fist Style under Uncle.
I have earned a number of black belts and instructor certifications, and appreciate them all - what I treasure above these wall papers are the lessons I have learned, the knowledge I have acquired, and the wisdom these men have shared. This is the true value of martial arts and the quest to live as a warrior.
If you have questions about my background, my instructors, or about me, please feel free to ask.

Dear Guro John,
A million thanks to you for making my project, the GM Anthony Kleeman- Special Digest, come to fruition.
I will always remember the time when there was no other on-line publisher to run to after the closure
of Steven Dowd’s FMA Digest last December 2010. But you came to my rescue and offered the best help I could ever get. You are a true blessing!
I’m amazed at the incredible job you did in putting everything in perfect order. You have a great talent of a publisher!
My father SGM Cacoy Canete and I will always be grateful to your kindness and assistance.
Congratulations on the job well done!
Very respectfully yours,
GM Catherine “Kitty” Canete-Knight
VP- International Affairs
Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima World Federation
Thanks! This looks like a really cool site, I just need a little time to figure it out and get used to it. Nice work!
