The 1st Russian Arnis Caravan (Oct. 1- 14, 2011) covering the 4 major cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg & Surgut was a great success, led by 2 respected international caliber instructors: GMs Rene Tongson (Classical Arnis Abaniko Tres Puntas) & Rodel Dagooc (DAS System Smoking Stick). The Caravan aims to foster cultural exchange and introduce a new wave of Classical Arnis to the Russian FMA practitioners. The 14- Day leg was organized by Guro Alexander Pisarkin of Filipino Combat System- Russia. The lessons has added a new concept of applications and drills on Combat Classical Arnis, Knife extreme cutting & stabs, intricate stick drills on Ponyo- Sungkiti, traps & pins in Dumog- Ipit, and many more techniques revealed. A popular TV Sport Talk Show also gave a wider view of Arnis, and chance for GMs Tongson & Dagooc to picture the Philippines as a new destination for Training & Holiday. Also, as an investment area. While we lack sleep due to time difference,we enjoyed the traditional Russian cuisines, we were over- fed! The Russians are great hosts.
