Anciong Bacon was the founder of one of the most respected of the Filipino Martial Arts, Balintawak Escrima. There is no specific date recorded for the creation of the system. Some people say prior to World War 2 when the Saavedra’s took Anciong’s dagger away for stabbing his fellow students. Some say it was in 1951 when he opened his school on Balintawak Street. Still others say 1953, giving him a couple years to evolve from a school program to merit being recognized as a legitimate system.…See More
