Often times a teacher becomes a fisherman. Both fishing & teaching require patience.
Like fishing, at times 'bait' must be used to bring out natural instincts to surface the needs of some students.
Even the most vocal of students, may not share their complete concerns & expectations for personal reasons or just out of respect for the instructor & their methods.
As a person & teacher, I too have ego, weaknesses & a need to be better. One of the most distinct methods to me being a better teacher is by learning from my students as I teach. At those times, I can use my vulnerability is my 'bait'.
I wonder, are there other instructors who are also patient 'fishermen'?
