December 2, 2012 MEETING MINUTES

TOPIC DISCUSSION
UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS The following are upcoming FMA Tournaments Seminars which UFMAC is supporting:

 UFMAC Tournament not only FMA but as a Human Development Cultural Experience Event.
 Date: March 9, 2013 (SATURDAY)
 Location: Caesar Chavez Middle School Union City, CA
 Details/ checklist:
o Securities (in house, per Prof Ku’e)
o Flyers have been posted on UFMAC in FB.
o Registrations to be emailed post in FB
o Need Vendors
 Professor Ku’e will approach Tiger Claw. Kid’s booth and novelty. He has a barbeque food vendor in mind.
 GM Giron will ask Ulep and Brady.
 GM Pallens look for Filipino Cultural Dance Troop (Local Union City or East Bay group)

o Insurance- Professor Ku’e and board agreed that waiver/liability form will be good enough.
o Prepare waiver for school, booths will be $50 flat rate unless donated time (kids booth, dance demo etc.)
o Added padded knife division. Show case padded Espada y Daga at the tournament for future addition.
o Tournament registration and rules are located on the UFMAC website.

 Golden Gate Internationals
o Date: April 5-6, 2013 - FMA Divisions
Location: Santa Clara Hyatt
COMING EVENTS:  Senkotiros/ Pallen’s Martial Arts Annual Sama Sama
o Date: February 2, 2013
o Location: San Leandro Marina Community Center
o Price: $25/ person / dinner
o FMA demos (Associated Pallens MA, Lastra Arnis, KaJuEscrima, Senkotiros schools and others)
Note: If interested in performing to help celebrate Sama Sama please talk to GM Max Pallens)
 Annual FMA seminar (sponsored by Senkotiros/ PMA)
o Date: February 3, 2013
o Location: Pallen’s Martial Arts School School San Leandro
 Bahala Na Crab Feed
o Date: February 16, 202, 2016 (please note the correct date)

 Kaju-Escrima Seminar
o Date: March 17, 2013
o Location: Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute of Vallejo
UFMAC BYLAWS The board voted unanimously to accept the draft of the UFMAC bylaws with a few minor revisions.
*** GM Giron withdrew the Lifetime membership proposal. Membership will be year by year only.

Since the by laws are completed and passed, UFMAC to look into filing for non-profit status.

Holiday Schedule

All,Here is the Schedule of classes for the rest of the year:Wednesday, 12/12 - Filipino Plaza - 6-8pmSaturday, 12/15 - San Joaquin Delta College, Danner Hall. 10am-12noon
There will be no class for the remainder of Dec. for our Holiday break. Class will resume on Saturday Jan 5th, 2013. Thanks to you all for your continued support and for a great 2012. Looking forward to an even better 2013. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, see everyone next year. June

This is just a reminder... The upcoming UFMAC meeting will be this Sunday Dec. 2nd at 10:00 am. This is the year end meeting so we encourage everyone to attend.

Also there will be a post meeting training/ workout. We hope to see you all.

The next meeting is scheduled on December 2, 2012 Sunday.

Time: 10:00 am

Here is the class schedule for the remainder of Nov. 2012:

Saturday, 11/10 - No Class, Instructors will be in Pacifica for a Tournament.
Wednesday, 11/14 - Class at the Filipino Plaza.

Instructor / Graduation Practice

All,
With Graduation now completed, the second hour of Wednesday and Saturday practice will devoted to Instructor / Graduate training in the BNMS curriculum. This Saturday will begin with training in the SLD curriculum. Please attend if possible, so we can keep up to date on our training. Hope to see everyone Saturday.
