Badger, I'm amazed you didn't wack anything in your very nice living room :))  Nice job of flowing the doble baston 6 and 4 counts along with the payong double thrusts and something I have not seen for a very long time, the old walking cane grip :)  The doble baston was kuya Jorge's specialty.

Just playing around with some Heaven-Six flow moves. Not bad for age 60. Few people I know can flow for more than three minutes. :)

Welcome to the group Badger!  I'm always delighted when an old student of my brother comes out of the woodwork :)

I was a student of Jorge Lastra's though my instructor back in the 1980s. He taught me the right way to do a (reinforced) x-block, gave me my 36" unpeeled sticks which I still have. Great teacher and genuinely nice person. He and his instructors gave a seminar in Newport News, Va and brought in huge weapons bags, filled with sticks and bailsongs and other gear.

I was at the demo in the old video posted by David Duque showing Guro Eddie and Robert demonstrating in a backyard. This demo was what inspired me to join their school. The simplicity, efficiency and lethality is what caught attention. I've studied other forms of traditional Eastern martial arts prior but something attracted me to the art of my motherland.

An old Philippine News photo of me, kuya Jorge, and GM Mat Marinas from the mid 1980's

It's great to see Eddie teaching the art again and passing on his tradition. I trained with Eddie, Robert and Dennis back in the early 90's but I ended up moving away from Vallejo. But I can honestly say that my 3 years of training with those guys gave me a lifetime of knowledge. I still practice the Sayas-Lastra style on my own and with others. I never leave home without a knife clipped to my belt and I feel confident in my ability to deploy it at a moments notice to protect me and my family.

I'm glad i joined the group and i was very surprised to get the invitation from uncle Eddie. Its been a while since i trained with you in Vallejo. Hopefully we get to train again sometime in the future. I moved back to Arizona from Vallejo last Dec.2010.

Regards to all the members of the group and family..

Hello Brothers!!

First off, thank you Chris Sargent for creating this group page and thank you all for being members!  I'm happy to announce that I'm officially back in the teaching role and looking forward to meeting up with each and everyone of you again down the road.
