Comment by Guro Lawrence Motta on April 9, 2012 at 2:33pm Check out www.vallejopistasanayon.com for details on the upcoming 4th Annual Goodwill Tournament in Vallejo on 6.02.12.
This will be a team competition for the adults and will be a double ellimination structure. That means all teams are guaranteed to fight at least twice. Kids go first with a single elimination, single fighter tournament followed by the adult team competition. Teams can be made up of any rank, any size, any gender players. Mix it up. Bring your best team. Bring a bunch of teams. Or, pick up players from other clubs at the tournament. Max limit is 16 teams so register early! Scoring is standard padded stick, no limit with max score winning a bout.
Referee clinic will be held on 5.19.12 at the waterfront tournament site. We need judges, time keepers, score keepers and some fighters for a dry run of the double elimination structure.
Come out to the tournament and help build our FMA community. This is the only outdoor and team competition in the country. With the double elimination structure, it will be sure to be a lively competition. Be there!
If you have questions, contact me or Grand Master Mike Giron.
See you in June on the waterfront.
Comment by Guro Lawrence Motta on March 30, 2012 at 11:39am Congratulations to Rico, Janelle and Amanda for their medals in the Golden Gate Internationals. Kerry, great job first time out. Jacob, tough division but way to represent. I am really proud of everyone for putting it on the line and testing their skills. Thanks to Grand Master Mike for pushing all of us to be our best. You're the reason we are all here. I am very proud of our students and proud to represent GM Mike and OGE. Let's get ready for Vallejo in June.
Comment by Guro Lawrence Motta on March 29, 2011 at 12:35pm Had an awesome time running ring #3 at the UFMAC tournament on Sunday. I had all the kids 15-17. What a great group of boys and girls. They were all well behaved and came to play hard. This is our future and I was really proud of all of them. Instructors, keep up the good work!
