The foundation (core) of JKJ-Balintawak is Balintawak, which is a Philippine Martial Arts founded by GM. Bacon, when he was teaching he had two top students one was called GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin and the other was Teofilo Velez. Now because GM. Bacon had no system when he did teach, GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin who was a lawyer did decide to make a system over Balintawak and he came up with the Grouping system, which is based on 5 groups that each will teach the student some thing and this is the heart of Balintawak their group 1-5. Later Teofilo Velez inspired by GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin's work also made a grouping system of his own, Teofilo Velez did teach his style open to the public to people like my teachers Henry Jayme and GM. Nick Elizar, where as GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin did teach only to family and friends like my former teacher within the Villasin style his son GM. John Villasin (the only son of GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin, who is teaching). I did decide to mix my close range Eskrima (Balintawak) with my long range Eskrima from the Dacayana system and parts from Bujinkan and Ju-Jutsu (like grund-fighting, just basic to get up)......
