On January 7th, 2011 a long time patron of the South Bay Filipino Martial Arts club, my mother-law & friend "Lola to kids" Elvira "Chris" Panis was laid to rest. She had supported the club, cheered on her grandchildren and son-in when they fought in tournaments, and performed at south land community events. Her service was was well attend by friends and family it standing room only at the chapel. She was carried to grave four old warriors and two best friends. may she rest in peace.

Remember that this month in the USA is the 1st National Filipino American History Month. It was approved by the US Congress last NovemberFilipinos have been here since the 1500s. The first Filipino colony was established in the 1700s. Learn more about the history and culture. Please celebrate and pass this along.
