I actually know a guy who is VERY good with the whip. it's soo impressive! I will see if I can get some video from him.

The whip is a powerful weapon.  You cannot get hit by it.  It doesn't welt you up it opens you up.  Plus It's great for developing stick & sword movements.  Kind of similar to the whip check out Cold Steels "Sjambok"!  Pretty rad.

The best whip man I have ever witness was Snooky Sanchez from Hawaii, watched him blow out lited candle with his whip from afar with his students close by. He did it blindfolded

another is professor Ron Lew from San Jose, they both knew how to make the whip snap

I watched him (Snookie) at Turtle Bay, in Hawaii, he visited me once!!!!

I'll second both of those.  Dan Medina was the guy who put the blindfold on Snooky for that demo, and he validates that it was real. Ron Lew's student Rommel is also very talented with the whip.

I'd recommend searching for vids on Anthony De Longis, first. He's the top whip master in the world. After him I'd recommend Tom Meadows, who does Filipino whip, Adam Winrich is the world' fastest whipcracker, though he doesn't do anything martially-oriented with it.
