Based in my karate San Cho Sai kata, I was wondering if this is a good concept or a stupid one to use a three daga. Maybe one could be concealed during  training, while another could be dropped during sparring and then  bring out the other later, also throwing a knife for distraction /deception etc This might be useful. What do the experts say? Thanks.

Greetings once again,

Well I'm not sure what the 'experts' would say, but I can tell you this: the more realism that you put into your training, the better. Personally when I training with my fellow practioners and were going blade-to-blade, will I hide a 2nd knife on me? Sure, why not. Kind of makes a person think twice when you think you only see one blade, and plus it adds an element of surprise by taking the monotony out of training as well. Also if one were ever to encounter a person on the street who would opt to throw their knife, one should be semi prepared to deal with that too. I mean, the more variety in your scenarios that you introduce the less likely you'll be surprized by anything that comes at you in the real world. Hell I mean, why not include firearm deployment as well??!! America is very much a 'gun culture' and the chances of coming into close quarter fight and someone draws a pistol, how is one going to deal with that when you have your blade?
So ya, train with everything and everyone with multiple blades, weapons, opponents,...etc. Go for the whole gambit of training scenarios and see what you come up!! Enjoy!!
Good on you. I'll try this in my training some night in class. The concept is not new anyway because in the San Cho sai kata three sais are used one is thrown mid way in the kata then, the other is pulled out of the belt, and the kata is continued. I 'm not confining my training to kata but it's a start. Thanks
