Hello all,

Do you play music during your FMA classes? If so, what tracks/CDs do you recommend? In particular, do you play Filipino/Indonesian/Polynesian/Hawaiian type music?

Just looking to add a little extra something to my classes!

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Regards,
Brian Johns

Don't like music in my class...I don't run a dance studio the only music should be the breathing, the sound of weaponry and my voice.....LOL...I find music in any type of a work out a distraction. Students have a hard enough time grasping the nuances of training. In my opinion adding a distraction just makes it that much harder for them to pick up the gyst of what I am trying to get out to them.Breathing is an integral part of what I do...to be able to hear your breathing, regulate it is important especially in a dire time. If they are listening to music instead of their bodies they will never understand the essence of proper breathing and when to regulate it. I train my lads outside on the concrete or on the dirt ...no need for music and for the most part no place to plug anything in at...LOL

We have talked recently about adding live drums to our workout, Hawaiian, latin, filipino beats but have never gotten around to it. During our Sunday Sparring classes we woul play very loud Heavy metal from the Ron Zombie vain to get the adrenalin going. I do notice that music will effect the mood of the workout wether that is good i do not know!
