I am feeling out the FMA community on the issue of supporting USFMAF. The organization was started by Darren Tibon and other of the Stockton/Sacramento area with the hopes of having a better, more realistic tournaments with honesty & integrity with the judging. Many divisions offered USFMAF allowed sparring opportunities  that no one else had ever tried like mixed weapon sparring against other arts, knife point with kick & punch, padded point sparring and others. Since the inception of USFMAF others have copied some the ideas and concepts, the implemented them into their tournaments with changes.

Due to our economy many of the original founders had financial set backs that did not allow them to support this anymore. I was asked to become president this year but the situation is this, the organization has no officers to run it.To make the USFMAF run it work take people willing to be officers of the organisation. My question is is there still a place for the USFMAF in FMA community or has just become another victim of the economy?

Marc,

If I can get a copy of the constitution and by laws of the organization to look over, I would be interested in working with this endeavor.. That is if you take international members.

Defensive Tactics Guam

Bill,

Hey the last time I checked Guam was still part of US, so not a problem. I have gone through the documents that I have and these are a mission statement anf tournament rules & regulations, I do not have a copy of the constitution or by-laws. I will ask Darren Tibon for copy.

Marc

Marc,

The reason I said international members is that there several organizations that don't recognize guam as being part of the states.. Even some of the main businesses in the states recognize us as a foreign country, even after I give them my USPS mail box addy on the base where I work..

I'd like to see the mission statement also if it is possible.. I have been part of several organizations that have imploded because of a lack of structure and guidance, that is the reason I ask for these documents..
